Conducting an Interview for Examination

  • Three (3) methods of interviews are accepted in audio or video format for an On-Line Analysis.
  • Refer to the Structured Interview page above for more details on how to conduct these interviews for on-line submission.
    • The Structured question interview with  "YES & NO" answers  is the preferred method and yields the best results for a recorded interview.
    • The Covert interview with elicited "YES & NO" answers, is the second best method, but often the covert answers are a little more detailed than Yes or No. These answers need to be short and one or two words maximum to produce good results.
    • The Cold case / previously recorded interview is the third method. These audio & video recording can be reviewed for short on point answers to direct questions. Such answers are good candidates for an on-line analysis, and can produce new direction in your cold case.

Structured (recorded) Interviews

The structured interview is the second best method of conducting a VSA examination when a live interview is not practical or possible.

The structured interview is a process where point of interest questions are intermixed with control questions during a question & answer interview most common with phone interviews. These interviews when done properly are very effective, although not as good as the live interview it will provide you with accurate results to further your investigation.

Cold Case Recordings

In cases where persons of interest in a case have been interviewed and for one reason or another you need to know how much weight to place on their statements the VSA is the perfect tool to provide you the needed guidance. Find the interview video, and or audio of the person with whom you suspect was not telling the complete truth, and review the video/audio and see if you asked some on point questions. If you asked questions which elicited a YES or NO response, and also asked irrelevant questions to which the subject had no reason to lie, this process could be the answer to your needs. Submit a digital copy of the audio or video recording to Forensic-VSA and we can analyze the questions & answers. If the interview is on cassette or video tape, these can also be analyzed, but may have an additional cost for working though media. We may make a digital copy of the interviews submitted to best complete the exam.

Covert (recorded) Interviews

Covert Voice Stress Analysis works by (digital, analog or video) recording over the phone or in person conversations. These recordings if done properly can help you determine if the person with whom you were speaking was being honest or were they trying to deceive you.

Covert Voice Stress Analysis
Covert VSA previously has been reserved for the insurance companies, and Law Enforcement for statement validation, but is now being offered to everyone. If you can think
of a conversation in which the person with whom you were speaking might not have been telling the truth, you now have an option available to you to find the answer.
On-line submission of recorded interviews or conversations may be made to Forensic-VSA and analyzed by our Certified Advanced Voice Stress Analyst.
